Dr. Stancie Rhodes has worked as a Trauma and Acute Care Surgeon for over twelve years. After graduating from New York University with a BA in Psychology, she went on to study medicine at the George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington, DC where she discovered a love for surgery and critical care. After completing her residency training in general surgery at the University of Florida in 2009, she spent a year in advanced fellowship training at the prestigious R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, Maryland where she honed her skills as a Trauma Surgeon and a Surgical Intensivist. Since then, she has worked in busy Level 1 and 2 Trauma Centers along the East coast, providing care in the areas of blunt and penetrating traumatic injuries, emergency general surgery, and invasive monitoring and resuscitation of the critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit.
During her clinical career, Dr. Rhodes' expertise has often been sought out by the legal community for her Trauma and Surgical Critical Care expert witness opinion and testimony in the areas of trauma and general surgery. She has experience testifying in both state and federal courts on both civil and criminal cases. She has been retained as both expert witness and to provide critical chart review of medical cases pending legal action.
Dr. Brent Jewett has worked as a Trauma and Acute Care Surgeon for over 9 years. Dr. Jewett studied medicine at Drexel University College of Medicine. He then completed his general surgery residency and Surgical Critical Care fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Jewett is American Board of Surgery certified in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care. Since completing fellowship, Dr. Jewett has treated acutely injured and critically ill patients. Dr. Jewett currently serves as the Chairman of Surgery at the Trident Medical Center in North Charleston, SC.
During his clinical career, Dr. Jewett has been sought out by the legal community for Trauma and Surgical Critical Care expert witness opinions and testimony in the areas of trauma and general surgery. He has been retained as both expert witness and to provide critical chart review of medical cases pending legal action.
Dr. Jason Clark has worked as a Trauma and Acute Care Surgeon for over 11 years. Dr. Clark studied medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina. He then completed his general surgery residency at Orlando Health, followed by a fellowship in Surgical Critical Care at Orlando Health. Dr. Clark then completed additional fellowship training in Hand Surgery at the University of Mississippi through the plastic surgery division. Dr. Clark is American Board of Surgery certified in General Surgery, Surgical Critical Care and Hand Surgery. Since completing fellowship, Dr. Clark has treated acutely injured and critically ill patients while enjoying an upper extremity and soft tissue coverage practice.
Dr. Kyle Stephenson has worked as an Orthopedic Surgeon for the last 5 years.
After receiving his Bachelor degree from University of Indianapolis and Masters
degree from Purdue University, he went to medical school at Lake Erie College
of Osteopathic Medicine in Bradenton, Florida. Dr. Stephenson then completed
his residency in orthopedic surgery at Michigan State University/McLaren-
Greater Lansing. He then went on to do a Sports Medicine fellowship at New
England Baptist Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts, with additional training at
Boston Children’s Hospital. He served as the team doctor for the Boston Celtics,
Merrimack College, and was on the clinical faculty for Tufts University Medical
School.
After training, he went into practice at Community Health Network in Indianapolis,
IN. There he worked with the Indy Fuel hockey team of the ECHL, University of
Indianapolis athletics, as well as local high schools.
Dr. Stephenson specializes in sports injuries, arthroscopic surgery of shoulder
and knee joints, and joint preservation. He also performs knee and shoulder
reconstructive surgery as well as trauma cases at a Level 2 Trauma Center in
Charleston, SC.
When not seeing patients, he enjoys spending time with his wife and 2 kids,
being outdoors, and playing golf.
Dr. Ward Katsanis is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology. He earned his medical degree from University of Cincinnati. Dr. Katsanis then completed his intership and residency from the University of Louisville School of Medicine. He completed a gynecologic oncology fellowship from Sharon E. Smith Gynecologic Oncology at University of Louisville School of Medicine.
Brandi Betterton has worked as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) for 14 years. Brandi attended the University of MS Medical Center School of Nursing, where she graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. As a nurse, she gained experience in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, the leukemia/lymphoma clinic of St. Jude Children’s Hospital, and the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit before attending graduate school.
Brandi attended the University of TN Health Science Center, where she graduated Suma Cum Laude from the graduate program, as well as receiving the Faculty Award for the highest graduating GPA for the entire Master of Science in Nursing program.
Brandi’s work experience as a CRNA includes hospital, surgery center, and private practice anesthesia services.
John Rhodes has worked in healthcare and the emergency response field for 25 years. While attending nursing school at Rutgers University, he worked as an Emergency Medical Technician and the Middlesex County Office of Emergency Management. Following graduation, John completed a critical care nursing internship and worked in the Intensive Care Unit.
John then completed a Masters Degree in Forensic Science from George Washington University. While attending GW, he began working for the Washington DC Metropolitan Police Department as a Police Officer and was promoted to Investigator.
Following his time on the Police Department, John began working in Hospital Administration holding the titles of: Director of Emergency Services (Emergency Department, Hyperbaric Medicine and Emergency Preparedness) and House Operations Supervisor. Additionally, John was the Co-Chair of the Emergency Management Committee responsible for developing Mitigation, Preparedness, Response, and Recovery plans for a major university medical center in Washington, DC.
After moving back to New Jersey, John worked for The United States Department of Labor – Occupational Safety & Health Administration as a Compliance Officer. John conducted hundreds of inspections of general industry workplaces and construction sites, including accident and death investigations.
Over the past 10 years, John has worked in the triathlon arena as both a retail store owner and coach. John is a USA Triathlon Level II Paratriathlon, Level I Short Course and Ironman-certified Coach.
